NOTES: Near Georgetown, the Loveland ski area has 70 runs over 1400 boardable acres with a maximum vertical drop of 2,400. It is located right along the continental divide with the highest lift serviced terrain in the country toping out at 12,700. There are several amazing runs to hike to in an additional 100 acres with an elevation topping out at 13,010. Loveland is usually the first resort to open in the country.
For steep bowls and chutes, head up to Chair 9 to explore 400 acres. If you feel like hiking to some powder, head out Gate 3 on the Ridge into Wild Child. On full pow-days, try either Chair 4 to Sunburst Chutes or Chair 1 to Avalanche Bowl. The best time of year is January.
For apres-ski, theres no need to leave the baseā¦.check out the Rathskellar. For some nightlife, take a drive to Grumpys Roadhouse in Silver Plume.
To reach Loveland from Denver, head west on US70 for about 56 miles. Use Exit 216. Its before the Eisenhower Tunnel.
