NOTES: Southeast of Watertown and northeast of Syracuse, the popular Old Forge area has over 500 miles of snowmobiling in the Adirondack Mountains.

The main trailhead is in the town of Old Forge and the snowmobiling trail network interconnects several surrounding communities including Stillwater, Speculator, Racket Lake, Boonville, Forestport, Thendera, Otter Lake, White Lake , Moose River Plains.

While the Old Forge snowmobile trails officially open in early December, the best snowmobiling is usually in January and February.

When snowmobiling Old Forge, all snowmobiles must have a New York State snowmobile registration unless you are riding on your own private property.
