Located in Utah, the ATV trails in Ashley National Forest offers more than a half-dozen beautiful ATV riding trails. The best Ashley National Forest ATV trails based on popularity are considered to be Elk Park Loop Trail, Yellowstone ATV Trailhead, Basset Springs Loop, Old Carter Trail, and Petty Mountain Loop.
West of Vernal and northwest of Roosevelt, the Petty Mountain Loop is a 14 mile route open to ATV riders. Keep an eye out for active logging operations and livestock ranging. This is part of the Yellowstone ATV Trail System.
North of Vernal, the Basset Springs Loop is a 4 mile route through pine and aspen forest with a steep and rocky downhill section. The starting altitude is 8,500 feet.
North of Vernal, the Range Study Loop is a 10 mile route through aspen groves and occasional wildflowers with vistas of Diamond Mountain. The starting altitude is 8,500 feet.
