Located in Hawaii, the ATV trails in Big Island offers a half-dozen good ATV/Quad riding options. The best Big Island ATV trails based on popularity are considered to be Kahua Ranch, Mauna Kea Peak Ascent, Kohala, Waipio Ditch, and Parker Ranch.
Northeast of Waimea and southeast of Kukuihaele on the Hamakua Coast, the Waipio All Terrain Vehicle Adventures is a guided route along Waipio Ditch through some of the most lush tropical flora, clandestine mountain streams and waterfalls, a temperate climate and simply awesome views of majestic Waipio Valley and Mauna Kea.
North of Waimea and southeast of Kapaau on the Big Island, ATV Outfitters of Hawaii offers guided tours in the beautiful North Kohala area near the oldest volcano on the Big Island. The area is lush green countryside. There are scenic guided tours riding through private ranchlands, along the edge of spectacular sea cliffs, lush tropical rainforests and historical sites.
Southeast of Kona on the Big Island, the route to Papakolea Beach (aka Green Sand Beach) is popular with ATV riders and OHV drivers. Papakolea Beach is located at South Point and is accessed by the rough South Point Road (aka Ka Lae Road). This beach is also known as Mahana Beach and incorrectly as Puu Mahana.
