Located in Arkansas, the ATV trails in Ouachita National Forest is known for four scenic ATV trail rides. The best Ouachita National Forest ATV trails based on popularity are considered to be Wolf Pen Gap, Fourche Mountain Trail, Sugar Creek Trail, and Poteau Mountain Trail.
Southeast of Mena and west of Hot Springs in the Ouachita National Forest, the Wolf Pen Gap ATV area has 41 miles of loop trails. Featuring high mountain vistas, the trail leads the rider through an array of areas, including scenic Gap Creek and Board Camp Creek. The trail continues through a forest of large pines and hardwoods before passing the unique 2-foot tall oak tree and an abandoned mine shaft.
South of Fort Smith and Hartford in the Ouachita National Forest, the Poteau Mountain Trail is a multi-use trail open to OHV users. This 22 mile trail is a lesser known area and there are no maps available. There is currently no designated trailhead parking area. All parking is along the road side.
