Northeast of Phoenix in the Tonto National Forest, the 25 mile Sycamore Creek ATV Area has varied terrain rolling over mountains and through creek beds and sandwashes near cliffs and canyons. There are vistas of Superstition Mountain, Four Peaks Mountain and Weavers Needle.
Northeast of Phoenix and Carefree in the Tonto National Forest, a section of the multi-state Great Western Trail runs north-south through the forest. For a nice loop ride, a great starting point is the Cave Creek Ranger Station. From here, head east on FS19 towards Bartlett Reservoir.
