Northwest of Troy in the Uwharrie National Forest, the Badin Lake area has 16 miles of trails open to ATV riding.

To reach the Badin Lake ATV trailhead from SR109 west of Troy, follow signs to Badin Lake and Cove Boat Ramp and Picnic Area.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is prohibitted on all Forest Service roads.

Overall, Badin Lake is the 3rd most popular ATV riding trail of all 10 ATV trails in North Carolina.
