Town Creek OHV Trail For ATV Riding

The 2nd most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Georgia.

Southeast of Athens and northeast of Greensboro in the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Town Creek OHV Trail System has two loops totaling 15 miles. The eastern loop (Loop A) is about 6.5 miles long and is open to motorcycles. The western loop (Loop B) is about 8.5 miles long and is open to both mountain bikes and ATV riding. The trails are very winding and have numerous stream crossings.

To reach the ATV riding trailhead for the Town Creek ATV Trail from Atlanta, follow US285 to US20 eastbound. Continue about 80 miles to Exit 130 (SR44). Turn left and go over US20. Continue north on SR44 to downtown Greensboro. Make a right at the traffic light. Turn left onto Penfield Road, at the next traffic light. Take Penfield Road north from Greensboro 4 miles to Shiloh Church (on the left). Turn right on the dirt road. Follow dirt road until you reach a T . Turn left on another dirt county road, go 3/4 miles, which is past FS1241 (hunt camp). Trailhead is on the left.

Overall, Town Creek OHV Trail is the 2nd most popular ATV riding trail of all 19 ATV trails in Georgia.
