Sam Houston National Forest - East Side For ATV Riding
The 7th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Texas.

North of Houston and just northeast of Conroe, the Sam Houston National Forest has 67 miles of multi-use trails. The route traverses loamy sand and mud, along with numerous creek crossings.
There are three distinct trail systems marked by red arrows: East Side, West Side and Northwest.
To reach the East Side trailhead from Houston, head north on US45 for 60 miles to Exit #102. Turn left onto FS1375. Continue on FS1375 for 5 miles to the ranger station, or another couple miles beyond to the trailhead (just turn right at the Gulf Coast Trade Center and follow the signs).
Note: Trails are usually closed after rainfall. Call ahead. Trail maps are available at the Raven Ranger Station.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is prohibited on all Forest Service roads.
Overall, Sam Houston National Forest - East Side is the 7th most popular ATV riding trail of all 27 ATV trails in Texas. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Sam Houston National Forest - East Side including Sam Houston National Forest - West Side, Sam Houston National Forest - Northwest Side and General Sams Off-Road Park.
