Southwest of Missoula in the Lolo National Forest, the 5,500 acre Blue Mountain Recreation Area has a 4 mile ATV trail. To reach the trailhead from Missoula, follow US 93 (Reserve St.) south to Blue Mountain Road (CR30). Turn right heading northwest on Blue Mountain Road for 0.5 miles and park at the main area near the junction with FS365.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is limited to ATVs with valid license plates.

Overall, Blue Mountain ATV Trail is the 1st most popular ATV riding trail of all 25 ATV trails in Montana.
