Christmas Valley Sand Dunes For ATV Riding
The 6th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Oregon.

North of Lakeview near Christmas Valley, the 8,000 acre Christmas Lake Sand Dunes has plenty of easy to moderate ATV riding opportunities. It is located about 80 miles southeast of Bend and 80 miles north of Lakeview. The trailhead is located at the Juniper Camping Area.
To reach the ATV riding trailhead for the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes from Bend take Interstate 97 south to State 31 just south of LaPine, Oregon. Take highway 31 through the small town of Silver Lake, Oregon and continue another 9.6 miles. Turn left at the Historical Marker and sign that says Christmas Valley 14 miles. From the Chevron station in Christmas Valley, Oregon, head East on Christmas Valley Road for 8.2 miles, a BLM sign will direct you north on county road 5-14C for another 8.4 miles where you will pass an electric company substation and come to a "T" in the road. Turn right on county road 5-14D and travel another five miles east on dirt and gravel, then continue east on county road 5-14E for another five miles.
To reach the trailhead from Christmas Valley, head east on CR 5-14 for 8 miles. Turn left (north) on CR 5-14D and travel another 8 miles. Turn right (east) at the "T" and go 3 miles on CR 5-14E to the entrance of the Sand Dunes. Another 4 miles on BLM Rd 6155 will bring you to the Lost Forest.
Overall, Christmas Valley Sand Dunes is the 6th most popular ATV riding trail of all 44 ATV trails in Oregon.
