South of Cannonville in the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, the Cottonwood Road (#400) is a 46 mile rough dirt road that meanders through start badlands, sandstone hogbacks and scenic canyons that are open to ATV riding. Along the way is Gosvernor Arch, a unique double arch.

The ATV riding trailhead for Cottonwood Road is about 13 miles east of Kodachrome Basin State Park and a mile off Cotttonwood Road on Road #440.

Overall, Cottonwood Road is the 11th most popular ATV riding trail of all 75 ATV trails in Utah. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Cottonwood Road including Red Canyon, Great Western Trail, Paunsaugunt ATV Trail, Casto Canyon Trail, Fremont ATV Trail and Three Peaks Recreation Area.
