South of Salmon and northwest of Leadore in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Hayden Creek Trail (#6180) is a 10 mile route ranging from 6,460 feet to 7,940. The trail runs from the Kadletz Creek trailhead to the Tobias Creek trailhead.

To reach the trailhead from SR28 just north of Lemhi, head southwest on Hayden Creek Road for about 11 miles to the Tobias Creek trailhead.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is permitted only on designated dirt Forest Service roads. A map with designated roads can be obtained from the Forest Service HQ at (208) 756-5100. In addition, the ATV must pass a strict list of regulations.

Overall, Hayden Creek Trail is the 16th most popular ATV riding trail of all 55 ATV trails in Idaho. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Hayden Creek Trail including Bear Valley Lakes Trail, Big Eightmile Trail, Nez Perce National Historic Trail and East Fork Hayden Creek Trail.
