Between Port Wing and Iron River, the Battle Axe ATV Trail is a 19 mile route along an old railroad grade. The trail is sandy and passes through woodlands. This breathtaking route passes through hardwood stands. It connects with the Lenawee Trail and the Tri-County Corridor Trail. The trailheads are in both Port Wing and Iron River.

Overall, Battle Axe ATV Trail is the 27th most popular ATV riding trail of all 48 ATV trails in Wisconsin.
