Dead Horse Run ATV Trail

The MOST popular all terrain vehicle trail in Wisconsin.

From Loretta to Clam Lake, the Dead Horse Run ATV Trail (aka Great Divide Trail) is a challenging 56 mile ATV route on forest trails. The Dead Horse Run ATV Trail offer a scenic ATV ride along the East Fork of the Chippewa River and has a view of Dead Horse Slough.

There are two ATV trailheads for the Dead Horse Run ATV Trail. The Camp Loretta Trailhead is located about 2.6 miles north of Loretta off County Road GG. The Dead Horse Slough Trailhead is east of Loretta in Clam Lake on the north side of SR77.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is only permited on certain designated routes. Also, a valid Wisconsin ATV registration sticker is absolutely required.

Overall, Dead Horse Run ATV Trail is the 1st most popular ATV riding trail of all 49 ATV trails in Wisconsin.
