Near Patagonia in the Coronado National Forest, the area south of Patagonia has many options for ATV riding in the Patagonia Mountains. The routes traverse grassy hills and oak woodlands on old mining and ranching roads.
The South Patagonia ATV routes are located between Nogales and Sierra Vista east of SR82. Washington Camp is a good starting point.
Note: SR82, FS61 and FS49 require vehicles to be licensed and street legal. There are no facilities in these mountains so bring plenty of water and fuel.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is only permitted if the ATV has a valid Arizona license plate. In addition, some roads are signed not open to ATV riding.
Overall, South Patagonia ATV Routes is the 10th most popular ATV riding trail of all 42 ATV trails in Arizona.
