St Croix State Forest For ATV Riding

The 11th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Minnesota.

South of Duluth and southwest of Marksville in Pine County, the St Croix State Forest ATV and Snowmobile Trail is heavily used by ATV riders in the summer and snowmobiliers in the winter. The 23 mile route is well marked and maintained. There are 4 trailhead parking areas.

To reach the trail from Markville, head west on CR 25. Take a left on CR 173 and anther left onto Tamarack Forest Rd to reach the main trailhead. Other trailheads are located off CR 25 on St Croix Forest Rd adn off of CR 173 past Tamarack Forest Rd.

Overall, St Croix State Forest is the 11th most popular ATV riding trail of all 33 ATV trails in Minnesota. Several of the better atv trails are nearby St Croix State Forest including Big Aspen Trail, Upper Willow Loop, General Andrews State Forest, Thistledew ATV Trail and Yellow Birch Trail.
