Near Grantsville in the Savage River State Forest, the Poplar Lick Trail System is a 6 mile trail system open to ATV riding.

A good trailhead for this route is in the New Germany State Park.

To reach the trailhead from Grantsville, go east on I-68 for 3 miles. Exit and go south on Chestnut Ridge Rd. for 2.6 miles. Turn left on New Germany Rd. and go about 2.7 miles to the trailhead.

Overall, Poplar Lick Trail System is the 10th most popular ATV riding trail of all 12 ATV trails in Maryland.
