Old Man Trail - Monument Trail For ATV Riding

The 12th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Alaska.

Northeast of Anchorage and northeast of Sutton in the Knik-Chickaloon-Nelchina, the Old Man Trail (Monument Trail) is a 27 mile route open to ATV trails riding.

The trailhead is located 67 miles northeast of Sutton on SR1 (Glenn Highway).

The trail starts approximately 2.5 miles east of the Eureka Roadhouse on the Glenn Highway and leads north approximately eight miles before intersecting with the Crooked Creek Trail. This area has a number of trails that roughly parallel each other and eventually lead to the old Nelchina townsite. The above referenced trail is one that is referred to as the Old Man Creek Trail.

Overall, Old Man Trail - Monument Trail is the 12th most popular ATV riding trail of all 27 ATV trails in Alaska. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Old Man Trail - Monument Trail including Bird Creek Valley Trail, Little Nilchina River Trail, Bald Mountain Trail, Fall Creek Mine, Knik River Trail and Eklutna Lakeside Trail.
