Northwest of Kingman in the Black Mountains, the Thumb Butte Trail is a 14 mile route open to ATV riding. It travels through rugged terrain and over gravelly washes. The Thumb Butte Trail ATV route gets more difficult as it goes along.

Overall, Thumb Butte Trail is the 33rd most popular ATV riding trail of all 42 ATV trails in Arizona. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Thumb Butte Trail including White Hills Trail, Portland Mine Road, Packsaddle Mountain Loop and Hualapai Mountain Park.
