Northwest of Kingman in the Black Mountains, the Portland Mine Road is a 31.8 mile route open to ATV riding. The Portland Mine Road ATV route runs along a sandy wash and then down into a shallow canyon.

Overall, Portland Mine Road is the 23rd most popular ATV riding trail of all 42 ATV trails in Arizona. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Portland Mine Road including White Hills Trail, Packsaddle Mountain Loop, Thumb Butte Trail and Hualapai Mountain Park.
