Southeast of Bend near Prineville in the Ochoco National Forest, the South Millican Valley OHV Trail System has 43 miels open to ATV riding. South Millican is an old lake bed, so the terrain is very gently rolling through sagebrush and grasses. Best time to ride is Fall. There are three trailhead parking areas.
To reach the Ford Rd-Evans Well Road trailhead from Bend, head east on SR20 for 22 miles. To get to Horse Camp South Trailhead, turn right on the Evans Well Road (County Rd 2015), continue south about ½ mile and turn right on dirt road and proceed one mile to wood corral in juniper trees. The other trailheads are located along Spencer Wells Road (County Rd. 23), turn right off Highway 20 just past Evans Well Road on to Rd 23. Travel 1.8 miles to Ford Rd. Park on the right.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on Forest Service roads numbered with three digits. Also, all ATVs must have a valid Class 1 permit. ATV riding is not permitted on two digit or four digit numbered Forest Service roads.
Overall, South Millican Valley OHV Trail System is the 38th most popular ATV riding trail of all 44 ATV trails in Oregon.
