Chain Of Lakes Trail For ATV Riding

The 11th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Montana.

East of Darby and northeast of Sula in the Bitterroot National Forest, the Chain Of Lakes Trail (#39) is a 6.5 mile route from FS726 to FS313. The route passes through high alpine meadows, subalpine larch stands and rugged rocky terrain.

To reach the trailhead from Sula, head northeast on East Fork Road for roughly 19 miles. Its only a few miles past the NFS Martin Creek Campground.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is only permitted on designated roads. Also, a valid ATV registration from any state is required.

Overall, Chain Of Lakes Trail is the 11th most popular ATV riding trail of all 24 ATV trails in Montana.
