Bradshaw Trail For ATV Riding

In southeastern Riverside County near Palm Springs, the Bradshaw Trail is a 70 mile graded dirt road with sandy sections that is open to ATV riding.. This east-west trail begins about 12 miles east of the community of North Shore near the Salton Sea State Recreation Area. Its eastern end is about 14 miles southwest of Blythe near the Colorado River.
To reach the Western ATV riding trailhead near Mecca, CA take Hwy 111 south to Salton Sea Recreation Area. Across from Park Headquarters is Parkview Dr. Turn left onto Parkview and go about 1.7 mi. Take another left on Desert Aire for about a half mile to the canal road aka Dos Palmas Spring Rd. Follow this for about 10 mi to Drop 24 and the beginning of the Bradshaw Trail.
To reach the East trailhead take exit 234 S Neighbors Blvd/SR 78 off of I-10 near Blythe. Head South and stay on SR 78 through town until you reach 30th ave. Go right on 30th ave. The trailhead can be accessed from the end of 30th and West RdThe first road across Riverside County to the Colorado River was blazed by William Bradshaw in 1862 as an overland stage route. Beginning in San Bernardino, the trail was used extensively between 1862 and 1877 to haul miners and other passengers to the gold fields at La Paz, Arizona (now Ehrenberg).
The Bradshaw Trail is now a 70-mile dirt road periodically graded by the Riverside County Transportation Department. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended due to stretches of soft sand.
The trail traverses mostly public landand offers spectacular views of the Chuckwalla Bench and the Orocopia, Chuckwalla and Mule Mountains.
