Southeast of Salt Lake City and Kamas, the Cedar Hollow ATV Trail System is an extremely popular ATV area with 4.5 miles of routes. It connects with the Taylor Fork ATV Trail System.
To reach the Cedar Hollow ATV Trail System from Salt Lake City, head east on US80 to Exit #146. Head south on US40/US189 to SR32 (aka River Road). Head east on SR32 through Francis and Woodland to Cedar Hollow Road. Turn left heading north on Cedar Hollow Road for 1 mile to the trailhead.
Note: Like most National Forests, the trails and road are closed to ATV riding unless specifically signed open. Do not count on seeing a closure sign but expect to see an open sign. Lately, it has been reported that the rangers in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest have been strictly enforcing closures and issuing Federal citations which require a court apperance and $150 fine.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service Roads is limited to designated roads. To obtain the latest map of designated roads, make sure to contact the Forest Service HQ at (801) 466-6411.
Overall, Cedar Hollow ATV Trail System is the 12th most popular ATV riding trail of all 75 ATV trails in Utah. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Cedar Hollow ATV Trail System including Taylor Fork ATV Trail System, Lily Lake ATV Trail System and Hoyt Peak Trail.
