Near Wallins in Harlan County, the Black Mountain OHV Park has 100 miles of ATV riding routes over 7,000 acres of abandoned mining lands. There are rugged ATV trails at Black Mountain Park and old access roads to explore. The county is looking to lease an additional 30,000 acres.

For ATV riding, start at the Evarts Trailhead. There are three trails branching out from there. The Dartmont Trail #4 is a small logging road to a summit and then runs along a ridge with 5 extreme hills to climb. The Baileys Creek Right Fork Trail is an easy, scenic trail along an old gravel road to a summit and then over a huge strip mine dome with awesome vistas. The Baileys Creek Left Fork Trail is a moderate to difficult route through tight woods with long hill climbs. All three of these route meet in Baileys Creek Middle Fork, and is a good meeting point for large group rides.

The Harlan County Ridge Runners provides free guided rides, so bring your own ATV.

Overall, Black Mountain OHV Park is the 1st most popular ATV riding trail of all 16 ATV trails in Kentucky.
