From the intersection of SR 192 and San Ysidro Rd in Montecito go 1.9 miles east on SR 192. Turn left (north) onto Romero Canyon Rd. Go 8 miles to the Romero Saddle (a junction.) Go right (east) on Murietta Juncal Rd for just over 1 mile. Look for the trailhead.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on Forest Service roads with vertical number signs. All ATVs must have a valid California Green ATV sticker. ATV riding is prohibited on Forest Service roads with horizontal number signs.
