Fir Cap OHV Trail For ATV Riding

North of Downieville in the Tahoe National Forest, the Fir Cap OHV Trail is a 4 mile one-way route. The trail follows the ridge line to Fir Cap at 6500 feet. There are sections of loose rock and dirt, and some sections are brush covered.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on designated Forest Service roads. To obtain the latest map of designated roads, contact the Forest Service HQ at (530) 265-4531.

Overall, Fir Cap OHV Trail is the 88th most popular ATV riding trail of all 106 ATV trails in California. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Fir Cap OHV Trail including Chimney Rock Trail, Gold Valley OHV Trail, Deer Lake OHV Trail, Sierra Buttes OHV Trail, Downie River OHV Trail and Craycroft Ridge OHV Trail.
