Northeast of Elko and north of Deeth, the Stag Mountain area has miles of riding in the Jarbidge Mountains of remote northern Nevada.

To reach the ATV riding trailhead for Stag Mountain from Elko, head east on US80 to the Deeth exit. Head north toward Jarbidge.

A remote trail connects Stag Mountain, Charleston and Jarbidge and can be accessed off Interstate 80 at Deeth. The excursion to Stag Mountain, about 45 miles off Interstate 80, is a day trip. The trek to Charleston (44 miles) and Jarbidge (66 miles) are overnighters.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is limited to designated, signed routes.

Overall, Stag Mountain is the 16th most popular ATV riding trail of all 27 ATV trails in Nevada. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Stag Mountain including Harrison Pass / Corral Creek, Spruce Mountain and School Creek / Sherman Creek.
