Stonyford OHV Area ATV Trails

Northwest of Yuba City and west of Stonyford in the Mendocino National Forest, the Stonyford OHV Area (aka Davis Flat) has 200 miles of trails open to ATV riding. The Mendocino OHV Corridor is a designated 40 mile, east-west route across the south end of the Forest connecting the Grindstone Ranger Districts Fouts Springs/Davis Flat OHV Staging Area and the Upper Lake Ranger Districts Middle Creek OHV Staging Area.

The riding area varies in elevation from 1,700 feet (at Fout Springs), to almost 6,000 feet (near Goat Mountain). Vegetation varies from low elevation chaparral to tall pine and fir forest in the high country.

If you are looking for some challenge to start the day, check out the Letts Ridge Trail (Trail 32) which climbs 2000 feet over 1.5 miles. It starts from the Fouts Springs Campground.

To reach the Little Stony trailhead from US5, exit at Maxwell and head west on Goat Mountain Road to the Little Stony OHV staging area.

To reach the Davis Flat trailhead from US5, use Exit 585. Head west on Maxwell Sites Road. Veer right on Sites Lodoga Road and veer right on Lodoga Stonyford Road to Stonyford. Turn left on Fouts Spring Road (SR43A) for 7 miles. Turn right on Old Fouts Spring Road to the Davis Flat / Fouts Springs OHV Staging Area.
