Whissenhant ORV Trail For ATV Riding

The 12th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Georgia.

North of Dahlonega in the Chattahoochee National Forest, the Whissenhant ORV Trail (#43) is a 15 mile route over 700 acres that is open to ATV riding.

To reach the ATV riding trailhead for the Whissenhant ATV Trail from Dahlonega, head north on US 19/60 for 2.2 miles. Turn left on paved county road (Wahsega Road) toward Camp Frank D. Merrill. Continue 3.9 miles to dirt Forest Service Road #662, turn left into ORV parking area.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding on Forest Service roads is only permitted if the ATV has a valid license plate.

Overall, Whissenhant ORV Trail is the 12th most popular ATV riding trail of all 19 ATV trails in Georgia.
