Red Mountain OHV Route For ATV Riding

The 92nd most popular all terrain vehicle trail in California.

Northeast of Fresno and south of Huntington Lake in the Sierra National Forest, the Red Mountain OHV Routes include West Lake, Strawberry Lake, Red Mountain, Coyote Lake, and Mirror Lake.

To get to the Red Mountain area, take Hwy 168 east from Clovis towards Shaver Lake. Continue 13 miles past Shaver Lake and turn on the Road 8S10, Red Mountain trailhead. Follow the signs for 3 miles to the intersection of Road 8S42, and then travel 2.5 miles to reach the trailheads.

Coyote Lake is classified as a Most Difficult route that is 3.5 miles long.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on Forest Service roads with vertical number signs. In addition, the ATV must have a valid California green ATV sticker.

Overall, Red Mountain OHV Route is the 92nd most popular ATV riding trail of all 106 ATV trails in California.
