Southwest of Portland and southeast of Tillamook, the Upper Nestucca OHV Trail System has over 100 miles of trails open to ATV riding. There are 3 ATV riding staging areas with a trail network centered around each: Whipup Staging Area in the south, Elk Flat Staging Area in the center and Grassy Flat Staging Area in the north. The Whipup Staging area is 10 miles north of Willamina via Gilbert Creek Road and then FS 4-7-27 Road. The Elk Flat Staging Area is located on Bald Mountain Road at the southern intersection with Old Bald Mountain Road (aka FS3-6-14.2).The Grassy Flat Staging Area is located on Nestucca Access Road, about 1 mile north of Old Bald Mountain Road.

On the trail map, the black dashed lines indicate primative 4x4 roads. The red lines indicate trails open to ATV and Dirt Bikes.

Overall, Elk Flat Staging Area is the 41st most popular ATV riding trail of all 44 ATV trails in Oregon. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Elk Flat Staging Area including Grassy Flat Staging Area and Whipup Staging Area.
