South of Topeka and north of Lyndon, the Lake Pomona area has a 115 acre trail riding area through woodland and praire. There are some steep climbs and rocks, as well as some easier trails for beginners and kids. This riding area is very family-oriented.
The trailhead is just north of Lyndon off US75. Head south from Topeka on US 75 for 28 miles to Lake Pamona. Turn right just after crossing the inlet bridge to the lake. The atv parking area is on the right.
The trail system is on Army Corp of Engineer land and is maintained by the Kansas ATV Association and requires membership to access these gated trails.
Overall, Lake Pomona is the 3rd most popular ATV riding trail of all 5 ATV trails in Kansas. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Lake Pomona including Perry Lake, Tuttle Creek ATV Area and School Creek ATV Area.
