South of Newberry in Luce County, the Sandtown Trail is a 36 mile loop open to ATV riding..

To reach the Sandtown Trail trailhead from Newberry, head south on SR 123 for 3.25 miles to a right (west) on SR 28. Travel 3 miles on SR 28 to a left (south) on SR 117. Go 4.5 miles to a right (west) on CR 447 (Old Curtis Rd | Line Rd.) Travel 1.8 miles to a left (south) on Hayes Rd. Go about 1.5 miles to a parking area on the left.

Overall, Sandtown Trail is the 46th most popular ATV riding trail of all 54 ATV trails in Michigan. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Sandtown Trail including Danaher Plains Trail, Pine Ridge Trail and Two Heart Trail.
