Alder Creek Trail For ATV Riding

The 15th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Montana.

In the Wise River Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the Alder Creek Trail #735 is a 6 mile route open to ATV riding.

To reach the trailhead from Butte, go west on I-90 for 3.5 miles. Go south on I-15 for 18.5 miles. Go west on HWY 43 for 12.2 miles to Wise River. Continue past town for 4.2 miles on HWY 43. Turn left and go almost 1 mile to the start of the trail.

Note: The trail map has been created from a BDNF map dated 1996.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on designated Forest Service roads and a Montana ATV registration sticker is requiredon all ATVs.

Overall, Alder Creek Trail is the 15th most popular ATV riding trail of all 25 ATV trails in Montana. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Alder Creek Trail including Whitetail / Pipestone, Camp Creek Trail, Gold Creek - Sheep Creek Trail, Little Joe Trail, Meadow Creek Trail and David Creek Trail.
