Gold Creek - Sheep Creek Trail For ATV Riding

The 19th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Montana.

In the Wise River Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the Gold Creek - Sheep Creek Trail #140 is a 9.3 mile route open to ATV riding.

To reach the Gold Creek Trailhead from Butte, go west on I-90 for 3.5 miles. Go south on I-15 for 18.5 miles. Go west on HWY 43 for 12.2 miles to Wise River. Turn left (south) on Wise River Polaris Rd. and go 15.4 miles. Look for the trailhead on the left.

Note: The trail map is based on BHNF Recreation Map dated 1996.

Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is only permitted on designated Forest Service roads and a Montana ATV registration sticker is requiredon all ATVs.

Overall, Gold Creek - Sheep Creek Trail is the 19th most popular ATV riding trail of all 25 ATV trails in Montana.
