Fallen Timber ATV Staging Area

The 11th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in Alberta.

Northwest of Calgary and Cochrane, the Fallen Timber area has a designated OHV staging area with several trails (a few are blazed). The trailhead is located about 70km north of Cochran on Highway 940. The Fallen Timber OHV Staging Area is part of the Waiparous Ghost OHV Area.

To reach the Waiparous / Ghost Area from Calgary, head west on Highway 1A through Cochrane. Turn right heading northwest on Highway 40 through Waiparous. Just past Waiparous, veer right on Highway 40 heading north. The first trailhead staging area is the South Ghost Trailhead. Continuing north, the next Waiparous Creek. Continuing north, Highway 40 transistions to Range Road 734 and then the final trailhead is Fallen Timber South.

Overall, Fallen Timber ATV Staging Area is the 11th most popular ATV riding trail of all 35 ATV trails in Alberta.
