Copper Basin Dunes OHV Area For ATV Riding

Northeast of Parker, the Copper Basin Dunes OHV Area is a 1275 acre open area for ATV riding. Vehicle use in the area surrounding the OHV area is limited to designated routes. The ATV staging area provides a paved parking lot, restroom, loading ramp and bulletin board. Riding opportunities in this OHV area include the sand dunes, trails throughout the bajada and up into the canyons. These facilities were paid for and maintained with grant funds from California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation.
The ATV riding at Copper Basin Dunes ATV Area is located 12 miles northeast of Parker. Copper Basin Dunes OHV area is on the California side of the Colorado River. From Arizona Highway 95, cross the river at Parker Dam and travel south on Parker Dam Road. From Parker, Arizona, cross the river to California and travel 12 miles north on Parker Dam Road. The OHV staging area is on the west side of the road across from Big Bend Resort.
Overall, Copper Basin Dunes OHV Area is the 39th most popular ATV riding trail of all 42 ATV trails in Arizona. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Copper Basin Dunes OHV Area including Alamo Lake, South Plomosa Range Trail, Mineral Wash - Bill Williams River Trail, Standard Wash, Swansea Loop Trail and Crossroads Area.
