Near Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, the Wastelands Motocross Track is open to ATV riding.
To reach the track from Departure Bay Ferry, turn right onto Island Highway 19A North. Turn left on Mostar Road. Follow and cross over Parkway where Mostar Road becomes Jingle Pot Road. Immediately turn right onto Biggs Road. Follow up to the track. Track will be on the right side.
Note: a day pass that should be purchased ahead of time at one of many locations around town.
Note: As of August 2008, the Ministry of Forests Regulations require all ATV drivers to be at least 16 years of age and have a valid drivers license to ride on Forest Service Roads. In addition, the ATV must have valid third-party liability insurance, which is typically around $120 per year. The Conservation Officers will issue a $600 ticket if you do not have proof of insurance.
Overall, Wastelands Motocross-ATV Track is the 48th most popular ATV riding trail of all 61 ATV trails in British Columbia.
