Medicine Rock Trail For ATV Riding

Northwest of Winnipeg in the Alonsa Conservation District, the Medicine Rock Trail is a 26km ATV route within the Alonsa Wildlife Management Area. The route passes throguh aspen parkland, and may be very wet during the summer.

To get to the ATV riding trailhead for Medicine Rock Trail from Winnipeg, take the Trans Canada Highway (Highway #1) west towards Portage la Prairie. Once in Portage la Prairie, head north on Highway 16 for about 30 km until you reach Highway 50 heading north. Head north on Highway 50 until you reach Silver Ridge and turn left (west). Head west on Highway 50 until you reach Alonsa. Continue down Highway 50 until you reach McCreary and turn northwards (right) on Highway 5. Head down Highway five until you reach Provincial Road 360 where you will turn left to St. Amelie. To get to the Medicine Rock trailhead, drive 4 kilometres south of St. Amelie then east for 7.29 kilometres into the Alonsa Wildlife Management Area. Follow the most well travelled trail to the Medicine Rock trailhead.

Overall, Medicine Rock Trail is the 1st most popular ATV riding trail of all 3 ATV trails in Manitoba.
