From Whitehorse to Dawson, the Dawson Overland Trail is a 112km multi-use trail. The trail starts at Takhini Crossing near Whitehorse and runs northwest to Braeburn Lodge near Dawson. The trail follows an old stagecoach route. This multi-use route is open to hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV riding, snowmobiling and nordic skiing.
There are no facilities on this trail, but campsites exist with outhouses, picnic tables and firepits. Campsites are at 2km, 25km, 41km, 49km and 71km. The trail you follow is a road and then a wide 4x4 ATV track, very slippery after rain. There are 3 wide creek crossings 1-2 feet deep. Most crossings earlier on are bridged.
