South of Oklahoma City and west of Davis in the Arbuckle Mountains, the 6,500 acre Cross Bar Ranch has a 2,800 area ATV area. The Cross Bar Ranch ATV/Motorcycle Off-Road Area has diverse terrain featuring cedar covered hills, hardwood slopes and valleys and crystal clear creeks and springs. The elevation changes range for gentle slopes to extreme changes of 500 feet or more. The area on the ranch designated for ATV/Motorcycle activities consists of 2,800 acres located in the northern portion of the property. The Cross Bar Ranch currently offers the largest acreage dedicated entirely to ATV/Motorcycle riding in the state of Oklahoma. The land currently has an abundance of ATV trails, feed roads and seismograph easements that offer several miles of off-road enjoyment. Trail development and construction is currently in place so additional trail opportunities are just around the corner. Plans are to have 100-miles of trail in place by 2008.
The trails are very durable and not heavily affected by rain. The trail surface consists of clay soils and rock, providing an all weather surface which is affected little by erosion.
Only ATVs and motorcycles are allowed in the riding area. No four wheel drive vehicles are permitted in the riding area.
To reach Cross Bar Ranch from US35, use Exit #55. Head west for 1 mile to Dolese Road. Turn south on Dolese Road for 3 miles to the ranch.
Overall, Cross Bar Ranch is the 17th most popular ATV riding trail of all 19 ATV trails in Oklahoma. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Cross Bar Ranch including Crosstimbers Riding Area, Little Sahara State Park, Pear Orchard Motorcycle Use Area, Stillwater Cycle Park, Eagles Roost ATV Area and Big Red Off Road Park.
