South of Kamloops, the Inks Lake area has routes open to ATV riding. It is located 10 minutes south of Kamloops at the Inks Lake exit off the Coquihalla Highway. The trailhead is near the sandpile. The terrain varies from easy to challenging.
Note: As of August 2008, the Ministry of Forests Regulations require all ATV drivers to be at least 16 years of age and have a valid drivers license to ride on Forest Service Roads. In addition, the ATV must have valid third-party liability insurance, which is typically around $120 per year. The Conservation Officers will issue a $600 ticket if you do not have proof of insurance.
Overall, Inks Lake is the 56th most popular ATV riding trail of all 61 ATV trails in British Columbia. Several of the better atv trails are nearby Inks Lake including Buse Hill, Logan Lake Resource Management Area, Sciutto Lake FSR, Batchelor Heights / Lac du Bois, Greenstone Mountain and Whispering Pines 4x4 Track.
