Buffalo Gap National Grassland For ATV Riding
The 5th most popular all terrain vehicle trail in South Dakota.

Southeast of Rapid City and Farmingdale, the Buffalo Gap National Grassland permits ATV riding. An especially popular section for ATV riding is the Railroad Buttes area.
To reach Railroad Buttes from Rapid City, head east on SR44 for 21 miles through Farmington. Turn right heading south on 160th Avenue for about 5 miles. Railroad Buttes is on the left (east) side of the road.
Note: OHV use is not permitted in the Indian Creek area. Indian Creek is located west of Scenic and east of the Cheyenne River.
Overall, Buffalo Gap National Grassland is the 5th most popular ATV riding trail of all 8 ATV trails in South Dakota.
