East of Cedar City and west of Bryce, the Crawford Pass Loop in the Paunsaugunt trail system is a 8 mile route open to ATV riding. It ranges in elevation from 8,550 feet up to 8,760 feet. The Crawford Pass Loop is open to vehicles from dirt bikes up to full size vehicles. It winds through ponderosa pine forest and aspen forest.
To reach the main trailhead ATV riding staging area for the Crawford Pass Loop from SR12, use East Fork Road (FS87). Follow East Fork Road for 17 miles to Crawford Pass Road (FS92). Turn left on Crawford Pass Road for 1.5 miles to the Crawford Pass ATV trail head.
Note: As of September 2007, ATV riding is permited on designated Forest Service roads only and the ATV must have a valid Utah ATV sticker. For a map of designated open roads, contact the Dixie National Forest HQ at (435) 865-3700.
