North of NYC and south of Poughkeepsie in the Hudson Valley, the Blue Mountain Reserve has 20 miles of blazed single and double track through mixed hardwood forests. The more challenging routes are marked with orange blazes.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from NYC, follow US 9 north into Peekskill. Follow Welcher Avenue into the Reserve.

Overall, Blue Mountain Reserve is the 16th most popular mountain bike trail of all 48 mountain biking rides in New York. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Blue Mountain Reserve including Castle Point Carriageway, 909 Trail and Clarence Fahnesock State Park.
