Southeast of Haifa, the 21,000 acre Mount Carmel National Park has several great trails through relatively lush vegetation and running ridges for magnificent vistas of valley and sea. Mount Carmel (550m) is fast becoming a local mountain bikers mecca.
The Panorama Track runs 25km on a rolling wide gravel track. The route starts on Road #7212 near the antenna, about 3km east of Upper Haifa Road. The route ends on Road #672, about 3km north of the Elyakin junction. The track runs the eastern slopes of Mt. Carmel with views over the Kishon Valley, Zebulum Valley and Jezreel Valley.
The Carmel Mountain Bike Club maintains the unmarked Permenant Trail. This 26km loop is very strenuous and the trailhead is near the park info point across from the university. It is best ridden clockwise and with a CMBC member.
Overall, Mt. Carmel National Park is the 15th most popular mountain bike trail of all 15 mountain biking rides in Israel.
