Ringwood State Park For Mountain Biking

Near Shepard Lake, the 4,300 acre Ringwood State Park has 22 miles of mountain biking and lots of rock gardens, mainly on closed forest roads. Most of the singletrack trails are closed to biking, but there are a few gems open so watch the signs.

To reach the trailhead, follow US87 south and use exit 15A. Head north on SR17 and then west on SR72 (Sloatsburg Road). Continue past Ringwood Manor. Turn left on Morris Avenue toward Shepherd Lake. Turn in the park entrance. Use the parking area near the Skylands Manor House.

Overall, Ringwood State Park is the 6th most popular mountain bike trail of all 24 mountain biking rides in New Jersey.
