Northeast of Pensacola and Milton, the Bear Lake Trail is perfect for exploring the 184,000 acre longleaf pine and wiregrass ecosystem of the Blackwater River State Forest.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from US90 in Milton, head northeast on SR191 for 22 miles. Park at the Forest HQ in Munson.

Note: Bikes are not permitted on the Jackson Red Ground Trail.

Overall, Bear Lake is the 20th most popular mountain bike trail of all 58 mountain biking rides in Florida. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Bear Lake including Bike and Hike Trail, Pine Log State Forest, University of West Florida Trail System and Crooked Creek Mountain Bicycle Trail.
